Team Bath Racing Electric is team of university students competing in Formula Student: an annual competition where teams have to design, build and test a small Formula race car.

This year the Formula Student regulations changed meaning all parts within the HV battery had to be UL94 V0 rated. TBRe received quotes from industry leading manufacturers but chose AX3D due to our economical prices.

Issue / Challenge

TBRe had issues with their Accumulator (rechargeable battery) overheating. They needed to manufacture a set of cooling ducts with the following requirements:
​​ 
   1. Fire retardant material (ABS-FR UL94 V0.0)
   2. Smooth part surface

Solution

Just 2 weeks away from their competition, TBRe needed to manufacture their cooling scoops. AX3D was able to produce 10 units in 4 days keeping TBRe on their build schedule.

AX3D was able to redesign the initial part allowing it to be manufactured successfully.
