How AX3D enabled TBRe to compete at FSUK
Customer info / context
Team Bath Racing Electric is team of university students competing in Formula Student: an annual competition where teams have to design, build and test a small Formula race car.
This year we have worked with TBRe to design and 3D print a number of mechanical and safety parts used on the car.
Benefits of AX3D / additive manufacturing
TBRe chose AX3D to produce their 3D printed parts for many reasons, some of which being:

1. Specialty materials (fire retardant)
2. Low lead-times
3. Rapid iteration
4. Economical prices on low volume orders
Result
By using FDM 3D printing, AX3D was able to design and produce 15+ fire-resistant parts for the cars' HV battery and safety parts in just 2 months.
Due to this, TBRe was able to compete at FSUK where they passed all scrutineering tests and compete in the endurance event where they set the fastest lap time in their time category. They also won the costing and manufacturing event due to their effective use of funding to produce components for the car.
