Customer info / context
BlackCoffeeTwoSugars is an online shop selling EDC (Everyday carry) tools and peripherals. 3D printing has recently revolutionised the speed at which they can develop and produce parts.
Issue / Challenge
BlackCoffeeTwoSugars was looking for a solution to traditional keychains which are bulky, loud and challenging to use. They needed a design that met the following requirements:

1. Slim form factor (can fit in a trouser pocket)
2. Can be used with one hand
3. Adjustable size for different keys.
4. Protects other items from scratches.
Benefits of AX3D / additive manufacturing
Our client chose to use AX3D's 3D printing service for the following reasons:

1. Unlimited revisions (37 prototypes were made)
2. Economical low volume prices
3. Quick lead times
4. Parts ready for consumer use

Solution
Using FDM 3D printing our client was able to prototype, develop and produce over 200 production assemblies allowing them to reliably dispatch orders for customers.
AX3D's design team was able to simplify and optimise the initial design reducing the part count from 8 pieces to just 4 enabling the successful delivery of 948 parts to our client.
